David Scott Photography, Lanark | Weddings: what to expect

When it comes to wedding photography, I only have one aim in mind - to present you with a set of beautiful images from your wedding day that you will treasure forever.

By using a combination of a candid documentary style and contemporary portrait photography, I will capture the fleeting moments and emotions that make your day extra special - the natural smiles, laughter and tears of joy. I constantly look to record reaction and interaction, all the unscripted, un-posed moments that make your wedding unique from all the rest. This candid style will present you with beautiful artistic photographs where the focus is on everyone having a great time together, rather than traditional formality. I rarely stage or set shots up as I want my impact on the day to as minimal and discreet as possible.

Working with you throughout the day, I will keep you and your family at ease with a relaxed, respectful and an unobtrusive style of photography. Formal group shots will be kept to a minimum, and I will do my best to ensure that they are carried out as natural and relaxed as possible. I will work with the celebrants before the ceremony to fully understand what is permissible on the day, and I will work as quiet and as unobtrusively as possible during the ceremony.

Depending on your schedule, we can spend 45 minutes together on the Bride and Groom portraits. We’ll do some natural, spontaneous photography that conveys real emotion so you don’t have to worry about traditional formal posing. The Skye Collection includes a pre-wedding/engagement photoshoot, we will use this time to practice the informal poses that we will use on your wedding day, and this always results in a more relaxed and fun filled session on the day itself. You can be assured that I will have researched both the venue and some locations nearby before your wedding takes place so that you will have an interesting backdrop to your photos.  I will also work closely with your wedding planner and/or master of ceremonies to make sure we're running within time constraints, so you'll never be late for the next exciting part of your day.

Please have a look at my wedding collection page and if you like what you see and want to know more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – I would love the chance to meet you and discuss your special day further over a coffee. We'll have a personal consultation to go through all the details, you can tell me what you want and I can tell you more about how I work on the day. Then, if you’d like to book me, we can arrange payment of a £250 booking fee to secure your date. There's no complicated paperwork involved - I will send you a standard wedding contract which is written in open, clear and honest terms. I will also send you a wedding schedule form that will ask for timings of your special day, to ensure that I'm fully aware of what's happening when (we will double check everything never the time!)

I will feel privileged to be part of the most memorable day of your life, and you can be assured that I will always endeavour to present you with a set of images that will be captured in a natural, timeless and elegant style.

Insurance & Equipment: I am fully insured with both public liability and indemnity insurance which meets the requirements of just about all wedding venues. Using only professional level camera and lighting equipment, I probably bring enough spare kit to shoot your day twice over! Should the weather be disagreeable, our lighting equipment will ensure that we can easily shoot portraits and any group shots indoors.
